Exactly what I suggested yesterday, Jon.

Install an FTP server on a PC (free - filezilla).
Install Google Drive (free)
FTP files to PC into the Google Drive location and they're automatically
synced to the cloud.

The only tricky part may be if you have a dynamic IP on the network you
have your PC FTP server on (like most consumer based systems). In that
case you could use a service like DynDNS to make sure DNS stays up to date
if your IP changes. That is $60 a year.

That might work Diego - sadly I haven't a clue as to how to even begin
doing that. Any hints?

P.S. Amazon S3 is working for me for the blog backup. Just need to fix the
SAVFs now.

Maybe you can just create a local FTP Server proxy and sync to

I'm not sure "just get" is all that is needed.

However - it looks as if Amazon S3 will work at least for my blog
backups.
Now I have to see how Aaron is using S3 for SAVF backups and see if I
can
adapt my process to that.

Hosted is the kind of thing I'm looking for Kevin - thanks for that. It
would however massively increase my budget.

The closest offering to what I have now would take me from $25 per
annum
(admittedly very cheap) to nearly $2,000. That ain't gonna happen. Best
case scenario would be for me to radically reduce the number of active
backups I retain to fit within 40Gb and even that would take me to
close to
20x what I spend now.

I'll take a look at your other suggestions - thanks.

Almost all web hosts have FTP access.
Hostedftp.com is a ftp front end over AWS's S3.
Drivehq and Sharefile both offer ftp hosting.

Anytime I needed it I just fire up a small instance on amazon ec2 and
load up a FTP server on that, but I'm comfortable managing my own
hosting.

There is no local PC to copy anything to Brad - I would have to set up
a machine specifically for the purpose. Then set up the Google drive,
etc.

And to what benefit? More work, greater dependency on PC hardware,
and no payback except moving off ADrive.

Surely to goodness ADrive are not the only people who offer FTP sites?

And just to make sure, you did see where I said why not FTP to a PC
somewhere, correct? If you're just looking for a place to send them
via FTP (assuming the location to FTP to can be changed) why do you
need something big and public?

FTP it to a PC to a folder that's mirrored with Google Drive or One
Drive and you've not only solved the issue, but you also have it
automatically backing up to the cloud.

And therein lies the rub Brad. Your solution, among many others
would work just fine, but the scripts are already in place - and in
the case of the blog site not fully controlled by me.

You're going to have to elaborate. Are you saying you can't change
the FTP script?
