I just ran a quick test,and here's what GMail says over port 25 without
TLS ...

It's not clear to me what you're testing. But we send email directly (no
need for any kind of relay service) from our IBM i server to addresses such
as:

example@xxxxxxxxx

Google (on the receiving end) doesn't require TLS or authentication in that
case.

Now, you CAN send email with a from address of something@xxxxxxxxx and

bypass the GMail server (ie, deliver directly to the recipients email
server).

If you're sending email from IBM i application, why would you suggest a
sender's address as something@xxxxxxxxx? They should be sending from a
domain name that references back to your IBM i server.

And if it does go through it will be a spoofed email, but that's
not using GSuite/GMail for the SMTP server as it should be.

I'm not aware of anyone suggesting spoofing. Aren't we talking about
sending email from IBM i servers? Why would we pretend that we're sending
from gmail accounts?
