If you remove that SLTCMD command, the ability to type, e.g. "CRT*" on a command line and press enter no longer works.

If you rename the SLTCMD *CMD to something else, the ability to type a pattern, e.g. "xyz*" on any command line, no longer works.

Also, if you change the *PUBLIC authority of the SLTCMD command to *EXCLUDE, the "xyz*" capability also no longer works for most users, unless they have *ALLOBJ authority.

An RFE to request IBM rename that "SLTCMD" command to something like "SHWCMD" (and adjust the code in the command line processing to use that new command name instead of SLTCMD) might work?

WRK* <enter>

Due to the S and D being next to each other on the QWERTY keyboard you
should forget you ever saw the SLTCMD command and I would vote on anyone's
RFE to remove that command at the next release to get people to stop using
it. It's unnecessary and dangerous.
