IBM had me apply PTF SI63298 (V7R1). This is the PTF referred to in
another thread regarding the 12 character share names in Windows. Since I
had no shares with names greater than 12 characters, I don't know how this
applies, but . . .

So I dutifully installed it with an IPL last night, then tried it from
home. No joy.

So I decided to try it today before updating the PMR. Lo and behold, it
works.

Evidently the PTF does a bit more than just the 12 character share name
thing..

I have not.

I did open a PMR. IBM had me do a comm trace and send that to them along
with some other stuff. They're looking at it now.

Have you considered enabling Windows Services for Unix on your PC and

That should work just fine.

I think I'm going to open a PMR with IBM. Don't know what else to try.

Jeff,

I forget, sorry, but did you try making your Windows password all
uppercase and see if that fixes that? You could try a test user in
both Windows and IBM i with an all uppercase password if changing
your password is undesired. I'm seeing this in a few places as the
difference between the two versions of Windows acting differently with
IBM i.

If this gets to be a big PITA you may want to look at QPWDLVL=3.
Once you go from 0, I find that anything less than 3 (1 or 2) is not
worth it.
