Does the printer have a network connection? You need the IP address.

If yes, use crtdevprt. you'll need tranform(*yes) and the model/manufacturer. *Hpiii would probably work.

If no, just set it up with client access/whatever. You need help with that?

Once that's done google AFP driver. IBM gave it to someone to maintain. Like Ricoh maybe? Download and install it.

Then we can move forward.

There is a Midrange Wiki, and that helped me understand that the scope of the problem is greater than I had imagined. AFPDS seems, so far, to be the answer I am looking for but so far I haven't found a way to connect my Canon MG5700 printer as an Access Client Solutions AFPDS printer. The Redbook I found is 17 years old; its hard to believe that it is still the best answer.
