Hi, Michael:

Glenn raises an excellent point. An ILE CL program created with CRTBNDCL ... DFTACTGRP(*YES) will run in the default activation group, and thus behave as if it is an OPM program.

Perhaps a better approach would be to ensure that your command processing program (CPP) for your command has ACTGRP(*NEW) or ACTGRP(cmdname) specified ... that way, it should not matter whether it is invoked from OPM or ILE, or from the "DAG"...

Hope that helps,

Mark S. Waterbury

Hi Michael,

I'm just wondering what will you do differently if ILE or OPM?
What if an ILE program is running in the default activation group? Do you
consider it ILE or OPM in this case?

Is there a simple way to check if a command processing program was
executed (via it's command) in an ILE or OPM CL program? I can retrieve
the call stack, and check from there, but the APIs are more work than I
would like to do in this case.

Would I be better to do a SNDPGMMSG back up the stack and then retrieve
the program information to see if it's CLLE or CLP?

Or is there a better alternative?
