IMHO, there is possibly some misunderstanding of the function...

from IBM knowledge Center : (CHGSMPTA)

Delivery status notification (NFYDLVRY)
Specifies whether Delivery Status Notification (DSN) is supported and, if
supported, the address to use in the "from" field in the delivery status
notification.

if you google for SMTP DSN / RFC 821 ... you will have more information
on the DSN function.

Possibly also I misundertood what you are trying to achieve.
