You could leave your source in place on the i and write something to capture a copy of changed source members or do what I did a few years back and capture a copy of a source member on open from SEU or RDI.
If you search the list I had a discussion a couple years back with Rob Berendt on identifying changed source members.

Mark Waterbury might have some ideas as well if he's monitoring this.
If you can get the source easily copied out to a network folder on a regular basis, you can export changes and commit changes to Bitbucket a GIT or SVN server.
I'm going to work on a little side project to allow for capturing daily changes from source files and committing to GIT.
Seems like options available depending on resources.
