Every time I look at this thread title, it reminds me of my two years
working for Oxxi. The first laser printer I ever dealt with was an OASIS
LaserPro, an obscure beast indeed (and for good reason: it was a pile of
junk!) It had a Ricoh mechanism, using a belt instead of a drum, and it
was a "write-white" instead of "write-black" design, that had, as it
aged, ever-increasing problems with background tints. Made me want to
have nothing to do with Ricoh ever again.
Not that I'm exactly thrilled with what HP has been putting out lately,
either: I've become convinced that the LJ 2100M I have at home was their
peak, and they've been going downhill ever since.
