I'm very certain that Crucial (not Crutial) is not the kind of memory you
need. Depending on the age of the machine you are trying to upgrade you
need specific generations of memory which have specific data in their VPD,
non-IBM memory doesn't have that data and usually doesn't work (The Service
Processor or other part of the fw tells you the memory is not for the
machine): I haven't even tried to use oem memory on a POWER server but had
issues with p series memory on i series servers back when they had
different CCINs.
Also, if you are using a POWER8 I would like to see where you find OEM
memory dimms with CENTAUR controllers...
