I created a word document with color graphics. I printed it using the AFP

Duh, it worked. Apologies and thanks. I googled and thought I read that
it wasn't supported.
Permit me to suggest (based on experience with both overlays and page
segments) that you might want to experiment with parameters like color
mode and resolution, to get the best fidelity (if you're going directly
to a color printer) or the best compromise between fidelity and file
size (if you're generating a PDF. And the more you do them, the better
you get at it.
There are overlays that I did some years ago, that satisfied the
customer, and were the best I could do at the time, that I'd consider
embarrassments if I'd done them just now. (In fact, I'd be inclined to
offer to redo them gratis, were it not for the simple fact that I've
been recently informed that the customer has left the IBM Midrange
platform entirely.)
