Does a DOS ping work?
The deprecated IBM i Access for Windows had cwbping for verifying
connection.
The new IBM i Access Client Solutions uses this instead (your directory
structure will vary):
\Users\ROB\IBM\ClientSolutions\Start_Programs\Windows_i386-32\acslaunch_win-32.exe
/PLUGIN=ping /SYSTEM=GDIHQ
It should return:
C:\Users\ROB>\Users\ROB\IBM\ClientSolutions\Start_Programs\Windows_i386-32\acslaunch_win-32.exe
/PLUGIN=ping /SYSTEM=GDIHQ
Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false

If the file service works you should be able to access your mapped drives.
