Might be keyboard mapping.  Normally something weird is mapped to host 
print screen, like Ctrl-Pause.  And, there is a way to stop host print 
screen from working in 5250 land.  We did that back in the day of twinax 
terminals to stop people from printing certain secure screens.
I've found that the PrtSc on my laptop is often too broad, especially 
since it tries to copy all three of my displays.  Just to get a single 
session I will use Alt-PrtSc.
In a Sametime shop (like us) I've gotten really fond of "More - Capture 
part of your screen" function available in your contact list.  The trim 
there is kick-butt.  I believe there are a plethora of other PC based 
tools for such function.
IBM i Access client solutions has their own PrtScrn function.  BCCing you 
the image

Sametime function.
