Starting in 7.2 IBM has gotten much more aggressive on using
CHGATR OBJ('/someibmdir/logs') ATR(*ALWSAV) VALUE(*NO)
These directories will no longer affect your backup times. I don't care
if you use a full system save or not, or run in restricted state or not,
they will be not be saved. These will show up in your backups as
CPD37C3
Message . . . . : Cannot save ...
Cause . . . . . : The ALWSAV attribute on ... was set to *NO preventing
the object from being saved.

However I don't know if they are being more diligent in keeping them
clean. IOW, they may take increasing disk space.
