Since your requirements are non-standard you might want to try taking my Open Access CSV Handler and modifying it slightly to produce the format you need. You can find the article here: http://ibmsystemsmag.com/ibmi/developer/rpg/open-access-templates/ <http://ibmsystemsmag.com/ibmi/developer/rpg/open-access-templates/> - it includes references to an earlier article and links to the code download.

It has the advantage that you can use the same procedure that you would with CPYTOIMPF except that the "work file" that you produce to copy to the IFS instead writs directly to the IFS. I have had several people with requirements like your use the code and it seems to work well for them.

I'm starting to work with a cloud EDI provider and they've asked me to provide them data in a specific format - a comma separated text file, with each field wrapped in double quotes:

"xx", "123" etc...

I've been playing with CPYTOIMPF and it's working, except for the numeric fields. I've done some googling and I'm not finding anything. Is there a way to make CPYTOIMPF wrap numeric fields in double quotes?

Thanks
