Using System i Navigator (the Windows version, I don't have the newer ACS version so the same tooling might be in there):

Connect to system
Expand "Databases"
Expand system_to_connect_to
Expand "Schemas"
Expand the schema (library) - if it is not in the list of schemas, right-click "Schemas", add to the list Click "Views"
Right-click the View that you want to get the SQL for, select "Generate SQL..." option. You have several destination options for the generated SQL.
The default option opens a "Run SQL" window with the CREATE statement for the view.

Quickest approach is to use DSPFD on the view then look a page down for the statement.

Hi everyone
Before I forget - we are on V7r1

I am sure I have obtained this information before - but can I find it - no way, no how

We have a number of views on our system, and one of them is having problems, but the SQL that is being displayed is NOT the expected one

Some time ago - I am sure there was a way to extract from the view, the sql that created it

Hopefully someone knows what I am talking about As always - any and all responses gratefully accepted
