This is old, but looks correct.

I think all I did was install odbc with sudo apt install libmyodbc
I have this entry in /etc/odbcinst.ini

[IBM i Access ODBC Driver 64-bit]
Description=IBM i Access for Linux 64-bit ODBC Driver
Driver=/opt/ibm/iaccess/lib64/libcwbodbc.so
Setup=/opt/ibm/iaccess/lib64/libcwbodbcs.so

DontDLClose=1
UsageCount=1

And this in /etc/odbc.ini

[iSeries]
Description = iSeries Access ODBC Driver DSN for iSeries
Driver = IBM i Access ODBC Driver 64-bit

Subject: iACS Linux ODBC Instalation

Firstly let me state that Linux is by far not my strong suit.

I am trying to assist in setting up an ODBC connection from a Ubuntu
16.04 to
a IBMi at V7R3

I have downloaded the Linux optional extensions from IBM ESS Site.

But I can't find any documentation either in the downloaded package or
Googling that says anything about ODBC

Would anyone have any links or doco that may assist ?

Appreciate any responses

Thank you and enjoy your day ... Errrrrr Night for most of you.
