Well, I do use a fiber channel switch. I don't know if that's required. I
have two fiber channel adapters. But that's for redundancy. One for
VIOS1 and one for VIOS2. They virtualize the FC for all lpars of IBM i.

In your case you would use one FC to the switch, if you decide to go the
switch route.

But, if you got it to work for SAS IDK why you can't get it to work for
FC.
