I think you might have gotten twinax supported up to and including 7.1, on
just the right hardware (or wrong depending on how you look at it).
7.2 killed the last options off.

I think it was 7.2 which forced us from Power 6 to Power 8 hardware. But
we had so much old crap stuffed into our Power 6... Old expansion units,
cards, etc.
Was kind of weird going from a rack and a half to well under a half rack.
I think 7.2 supported Power 6, but only with pretty immaculate hardware
options (we definitely didn't qualify). 7.3 killed Power 6 dead.
