E4A is a 8203-E4A? Power6?
LTO5 SAS attached would be A) Way faster, B) at least get you into this
decade, and C) have some longevity to it.
A tape library can be had in the open market (TS3100) for about $1000 plus
the tape sled (which you will need anyway) so you could get a tape library
and then really set yourself up properly. Even in sequential mode the
ability to stage tapes is well worth it.

With a worn out DAT160 backup tape on our production box, I went looking for
replacement media.
And I discovered that DAT160 is considered an obsolete format, with
availability limited to stock on hand.
Given that we have a rack-mountable E4A, with a DAT160 drive for backup, can
anybody suggest any long-term options?
