We're using QNTC on 7.3 with both user/password and EIM. The SMB2 change did make passwords case sensitive (they were always supposed to be, but weren't).

When we upgraded to V7R3 we could not get the only share we used to work.
I remember all of Rob's postings about it.

We were able to install an FTP Server and use it instead of the share.
