Well, buying an extra drive at $400 buys how many months worth of
maintenance?
I might ensure that the firmware is up to date on both drives so that the
spare doesn't get too far behind over time. Besides that gives you
assurance that it will work when needed. A little drive testing so to
speak.
As plug and play as these are (no torch required) I'm betting James could
handle this.
