There are a limit to how far some of the existing libraries may go. But I
don't think James is hot to trot to get to LTO9. I think LTO5 is probably
the sweet spot for those servicing several clients with servers on aging
hardware.
Perhaps I'm being a bit crass but I would think it's the customer's
responsibility to upgrade from anything older than that. After all, you
are talking about supporting x-4 here already.
