Actually, it was the CPDB052-Error establishing session with network server MYWORKSTATION error I saw that made me think of using Wireshark.

with an out of memory condition and your fix was to reboot the PC?

Not 'A wireshark' ... Wireshark (https://www.wireshark.org) the open source packet capture utility.
