Let's use this example. At one time I could order PTF's (cume and all
groups) from IBM on physical media and have them shipped to me. At the
same time I would start the download. It used to be that the physical
would arrive first. Both sides have updated their architecture and I've
changed the buffer sizes and stuff.
Sure, one system may be in Vermont and the other in California. This
still doesn't negate if it's faster to physically ship it or
electronically send it.
