Actually, the last time we had a printer connected to any Midrange box,
it was an old (at least two generations older than my 2100M at home)
PCL-only HP LJ, plugged into the parallel port on an InfoWindow II. And
before that, a wide-carriage dot-matrix, plugged into a DOS-only PS/2,
running PC Support.
I've become fairly adept with the spool-file-to-PDF functionality. And
if I need a hardcopy source listing, I typically just copy and paste
from a terminal session into TextEdit on my work Mac, and print from there.
The Xerox that I owned for less than 24 hours was for my home, to have
been shared between my DOS box and my Mac.
