I took the hint, coded the following, and it worked.

SELECT JOB_STATUS, COUNT(*) as COUNT
FROM TABLE(JOB_INFO(JOB_SUBMITTER_FILTER => '*USER'
, JOB_USER_FILTER => '*ALL')) as JBI
GROUP BY JOB_STATUS
ORDER BY JOB_STATUS;

JOB_STATUS COUNT
ACTIVE 25
OUTQ 799

But I question the results. I don't see how there could be 25
active jobs that were submitted by me nor 799 jobs in out output queue
that were submitted by me. Especially with the following results from
teh
WRKSBMJOB command itself.

Work with Submitted Jobs

Submitted from . . . . . . . . : *USER

Type options, press Enter.
2=Change 3=Hold 4=End 5=Work with 6=Release
8=Work with spooled files

Opt Job User Type -----Status-----

(No jobs to display)

Oh, silly me. I was executing the statement from iNavigator --
which doesn't run on the IBM i under my profile. So, I ran the statement
in STRSQL and got zero results. Thanks, all, for playing along.

Sincerely,

Dave Clark
