It is weird. Not sure it it's a limitation of Power System processor or not. I'm not a processor expert. I would say it's more of a throwback to the 90's and IBM not wanting to play nice with MS.

Maybe Tim could shed some light on the real reason ? Inquiring minds want to know.

Most customers nowadays that choose Windows based apps are comfy opening up a small VM so it's kind of moot unless Tim figures out how to say the word. Mi-cro-soft.

Core now runs on Windows, Linux (several flavors), Mac and even Raspberry pi. (Successfully to IBMi with my iToolkit wrapper I might add :_) )

I'm still waiting for you to port .Net Core Richard - what's the hold up? <grin>

Seriously though - you can't be the only .Net fan out there so why isn't it being done? Surely it doesn't need IBM to do it just as Python didn't originally. IBM was late to the game with that.

I now do more multi-platform stuff, the shell scripting languages are more and more part of the daily diet.

However .Net Core now runs everywhere except IBMi :)

Also since I grew up in the green screen era, I like to try and make these technologies more accessible from traditional IBMi applications, thus my affinity for creating wrappers.

Now we can have more Python discussions here !!
