I have a couple of weird things - but heres the first one
I created the sql function in the normal manner and tested it
It failed - and I am trying to determine why
But heres the first weird part
I had to logoff and log back in again
The function was no longer there

I tried this a number of times
Create
Test
Log off
Log on
No function
I even used the IBM I Access Client solutions to display all the sql
functions that are there
Its there after I created it
I log off
Refresh the IBM I Access Client solutions and its gone

I am stumped

I create SQL procedures, functions, etc. using the following
method. Of particular importance is the COMMIT option. You can vary the
MARGINS option is you have SQL source files with wider record lengths. We
use record length 100 for table, view, index source files.

RUNSQLSTM SRCFILE(&L/&F) SRCMBR(&M)
COMMIT(*NONE) NAMING(*SYS) MARGINS(80) OPTION(*LIST)
