While I wholeheartedly endorse the sentiment behind this, I wouldn't
recommend SourceForge. It's had a checkered history, and even if it
has cleaned up its act for good under the current management (I have
no basis for which to judge whether this has truly happened), I don't
see that it has any compelling advantages over GitHub or Bitbucket.

If you don't have experience with any of them, I would suggest GitHub,
as it's the established leader. And as yet, I am not aware that GitHub
has turned evil/complacent/incompetent from its success.
