Those aren't the only two choices. Another choice would be to charge an
astronomical sum for them in the first place. Sort of like prepaying for
maintenance. Some may think they have done this already.
But it does help to explain it. Thank you.
I do remember having to report in every little thing on old hardware
(maybe back in S/36 days) and each part affected maintenance. And you're
right, some was so insignificant that it had to cost more to track the
paperwork.
