The problem I have was that the Index in question took the first 15 chars of a 40 byte company name.

So I've created a DDS version of the physical file and of course defined the company name in there - my challenge was SST'ing that forced me to explicitly name the rest of that field and the other fields in the file, in the logical - otherwise I end up with a logical with only the key fields.

The reason I didn't use DDL was because I started using TARGET400 to do this migration and that of course uses old DDS..however I'm inclined to agree with you. Maybe I grab TARGETS DDS-DDL converter..

Also I wanted to do this in steps as my client is a very small shop and just want a working solution quickly for GDPR - so we can audit the field changes and maybe use encryption. Once there we can beautify the app without the pressure.
