Use sql?

strsql
call qcmdexc('ALCOBJ OBJ((ROB/A *FILE *EXCL))')

DSPJOB OPTION(*JOBLCK)

STRSQL
call qcmdexc('DLCOBJ OBJ((ROB/A *FILE *EXCL))')
DSPJOB OPTION(*JOBLCK)

You can embed that.
The command api's give you a bit more control over the error handling. Or,
just do it differently. But if this fills your sails it might be ok.
