I am not worried about the communications between the two systems as they are in the same rack and plugged into the same switch. If I can mount an NFS export from the primary to the secondary and then remotely call the communications program, the IFS paths could all be the same. The RPC sound like the best option so far. I just need to research how to do it.

interfaces to the remote system?
