They either mean:

1., You need a client certificate installed and you need to link it to
your email client application

or

2. You need to import the Certificate Authorities (CA) used by their SSL
server certificate so your IBM i "trusts" their certificate.

Now, client authentication usually means passing a user id and password.
This could be in addition to SSL/TLS requirements.

If your mail server requires TLS/SSL and it's up to date (ie, TLS 1.2)
you're probably out of luck on V6R1. Not even sure if Client
Authentication was available on IBM SMTP.. it may be been...



What are you trying to use to send email with? SNDDST?
