Yep IBM told me that was what that name was for. They said think of it like you what to connect to another windows server. Servername.profile. With this it is domain name /profile.

Ed,

Seems like no one can find something wrong with changing that.
Since you're already in there to make your change be sure to stop/start
the NetServer service.
That's like doing
ENDTCPSVR *NETSVR
wait
STRTCPSVR *NETSVR

If you have no PC clients accessing shares on your IBM i,
and your IBM i is not able to access shares on Windows servers using QNTC,
then I see no negative ramifications to doing this midday.
No IPL or after hours work needed. Just remember to stop and restart the
service.

While trying to resolve an issue we are having with QNTC we went into
http://youribmi:2001<http://youribmi:2001/<http://youribmi:2001%3chttp:/youribmi:2001/>>, Network, Servers, TCP/IP
Servers, NetServer, Properties and noticed our NetServer Domain name was
set to the name of our IBM i. Are there any ramifications to changing
this to match our Windows domain name,
other than QNTC, and File Shares served up by IBM i, may actually work?
