We are talking about millions of objects here. It may be better to do
something like this on a device directly attached. Especially if he has
the time to research this.
There could be issues with using his PC. Including but not limited to:
- Instead of direct attached, it's not.
- Proximity to the machine: direct vs 10GB local system ethernet vs 1gb
building ethernet vs WAN vs his home connection vs... and you can see how
it gradually downgrades.
- Doing it in a dedicated environment to ensure no updates occur during
the process
