Starting a job every 5 minutes is a killer

Not saying this is a bad idea, but you glossed over (or completely
ignored?) the requirement that the wait time is sometimes 5 minutes
but sometimes an hour. For those of us not inside your brain, could
you elaborate on how you suggest to handle that? I'm not even saying
it's hard, I'm just saying it's not obvious to some of us what you
intended, based on what you wrote.
