Seriously, the argument you're making is that I shouldn't want it to act the
same way it did before because you don't like the way it acted before. Not
compelling.

The thing is, I made no such argument. I never said the behavior
you're describing is stupid or invalid. We clearly disagree on the
characterization of it as "well specified". But that doesn't mean I
believe you shouldn't be able to get the behavior you want. The
hypothetical setting I mentioned (set font to X% upon mode switch) was
actually one way in which, were it to be implemented, your preference
could not only be accommodated, but accommodated even better than with
the existing old-client settings. On top of that, it would also
accommodate my preference.

I was also trying to be helpful with the AutoHotkey idea. So I'm
disappointed that all you saw was argumentativeness.
