Unless you've dedicated 2 LPARs/Systems for Production and Backup, and rigorously test The Switch between them, switching between systems is... difficult, to say the least. Trying to use the backup system for program development and other uses makes switching almost impossible. IMHO. "These things must be done delicately, or you hurt the spell."

This is making more sense.
So Mimix would only be replicating the critical application(s).
All IBM libraries and 3rd party utility products would be kept out the HA/DR solution, updated manually.
