I had another thought about five [5] nanoseconds after I hit the Enter key
to send this message. Maybe I needed to change the // PRINTER statement
(OCL...forgot to mention that this part of the app is in the 36E) to use the
Lines- and LPI- parameters. But it never needed it when printing to a line
printer.

Anyway, I'm going to try that and hope that it works. It'll save me a 200
mile trip - which probably wouldn't help, anyway.

Jerry,

You did not mention that it has ever worked on this printer - so I assume
not.
The message is from the printer, not the system, so may be a limit of the
printer (check the printer specs on how to handle odd sized paper).

Also, assuming the system throws a Change of Forms message - make sure the
admin answers with as "G" to change, and not an "I" to ignore - that leaves
the system thinking you are printing on the previous form , whatever that
was...
Check this

improper-alignment/td-p/6237894

Also - what printer definition on the Power I (in detail) and does it match
the actual model, and does it match what IBM recommends for this printer?
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1019534

Is there a customizing object defined for this printer?

Subject: Forms Problem on InkJet

I am having an issue with check forms on an HP Inkjet printer.
The form length is defined in the program, via an L-spec, to be 42 lines
with overflow on line 40.
If we run the test using stock paper (8.5x11), no problem.
But, if we use probably sized forms, we are getting a blank sheet
intermittently.

I'm not actually in the office where the printer is located, but the on-site
admin., who is very good, tells me that she is getting a message on the
printer that says "Improperly sized forms" when we use the 42 lines test
forms, but not when we use the stock paper. So, I'm guessing that this is
somehow a printer issue; perhaps a combination printer-program issue.

I'm going to the office next week, but thought that, perhaps, some of you
may have had a similar experience and/or guesses what I can look for.
Thanks.
