Actually there was no problem applying the keys for the IBM supplied
software on RACK1 early. I just did a search and replace of *LOCAL with
the new serial number.
DSPLICKEY PRDID(5770SS1) LICTRM(*ALL) FEATURE(5050) SERIAL(*ALL)
Shows we have keys loaded for serial numbers, old, current and future.
System serial number . . . : 103BDDD License term . . . . . . .
: V7R1M0
System serial number . . . : 21443BV License term . . . . . . .
: V7R1M0
System serial number . . . : 21443BV License term . . . . . . .
: V7R2M0
System serial number . . . : 21443BV License term . . . . . . .
: V7R3M0
System serial number . . . : 7805730 License term . . . . . . .
: V7R3M0
And if you drop that down from 5770SS1 to 5769SS1...
System serial number . . . : 1015BCD License term . . . . . . . :
V4R1M0
on up...
also 5722SS1, License term . . . . . . . : V5R1M0 on up

There's quite the history here...

Now I am sure there is someone somewhere who is concerned that this may be
wasting 0.00005% of my 45TB system.

Of which I'll lose ASP 2 due to the lack of GA2 of the Power 9 firmware.
