That's nice, but consider how high your taxes are there. By contrast, the
landfill between Anahuac and Winnie TX, has a 40 year old scale, and the
operator types the weight into an old PC and prints the ticket with an old
Okidata Microline tractor feed printer. At the end of her shift, she faxes
her copy of the tickets to the district office.
I anticipate things will get better as more and more small garbage haulers
get acquired by the two big boys in the market, but Booth and I will be long
gone by then.
I can still run a bulldozer. Should I see if the local landfill is hiring?

The landfill in Warren County, NJ, has an air-conditioned scale shack with
electronic equipment to print a ticket from the electronic scale... Almost
as fast as picking up a ticket at the turnpike entrance.

Think scale shack at a landfill. Think garbage truck drivers writing down
which homeowner didn't set out his can during trash pickup day. Think
earthmover operators keeping track of how many loads of dirt they've hauled
while building a road.
All of this is very real world stuff.
