Rob:

I had to re-read a couple of times before I realized you were referring to
"Shared Processor Pools" as opposed to any of the other "shared pools" we
can play with.......

I'm assuming the partition limits in the partition profile were all set to
not need an update as well?

That's very good to know, since that's a common mistake.

Subject: Sharing a good experience with changing shared pool.

Had a hosting lpar which I screwed up and had in the wrong shared pool. In
fact I had it in the default pool. I changed the profile and was trying to
figure out when to implement it. Assuming I would have to shutdown all the
guests and IPL this lpar from profile.
Then I noticed on HMC 9 that I could go into Shared Processing Pools. I
picked the partition tab. Clicked on the offending lpar and it allowed me
to change the shared processing pool on the fly.

I was getting CPF9E7F every hour at 47 minutes after. After that change it
stopped.
call qlzarcapi
reports all is as it should be now.

Cool!
