I for one am really tired of having to download an app for everything. I
use my banks mobile browser instead of their app for just that reason.
That being said, I would not fight your marketing person. I would do as
they say. Besides, it looks good on the resume'.
And, hopefully a significant portion of their target audience feels as I
do and asks for a mobile based web browser version. But even on some
stuff I click the option on my mobile device to select the "desktop" web
version of their website over the mobile web version. Often times they
sacrifice function for real estate.
