As has been noted there is basically '2U' of difference :-)

The S812 cannot be virtualized either so if you find out you need a separate partition for any reason, you can't.

Do be aware there is also an S822, also a 2 box, which CAN be virtualized but given the size you're mentioning is likely a bit of overkill.

You have a very small system there which is exactly the type of customer our iInTheCloud offering is built for. Contact me off line if you're interested in discussing our offering.

We're in the market for a new IBM Power system, either hosted or on-prem. I have two companies giving me quotes for on-prem:

Quote #1 is for an 8284-21A 1-core, 16GB ram, with 849 usable DASD.

Quote #2 is for an 8286-41A 1-core, 16GB ram, with 849 usable DASD.

Each vendor says the machine in their quote has 9360 CPW.

With all the specs being identical, what's the difference between the 8284-21A and the 8286-41A?

Thanks
