If I modify my response to "The sequence run _RPG_ program, ftp IFS file to local drive, open local copy, rinse and repeat gets tedious after a while!" does it make more sense Richard?

I have many editors capable to working directly with the IFS - that is not my problem.

Are you doing this for RPG or PHP and other scripting ?

Might be smarter to look at an FTP enabled editor like Visual Studio Code that can open and save over FTP automatically.

Open/Save/Run if it's PHP or any other scripting.
