I think Jim may be right. There's a difference between an "alternate IPL"
device and an "alternate installation" device.
Whether or not RDX is supported as an "alternate IPL" device is where the
FUD is.

Some standard tape libraries fall into this category also. You couldn't
boot from them but you could do a bare metal restore from them once you
booted from DVD.
