A lot of it depends on your target audience.
Is it for someone who currently uses all 5250 but you just want to start
somewhere?
Is it a somewhat static table which changes once a year or less (like
Infor's company master table)?
Is it something where accounting massages a bunch of numbers before
feeding them up? Then Excel might not be such a bad idea.
Is it for someone who uses a laptop mounted on a forklift?
Is it for someone who predominantly uses a handheld device like a smart
phone?
If I'm banging away at something all day, and I spend most of my time at
my desk I'd much rather have it on my laptop then my phone.
But making your basic CRUD application phone based? IDK if that's such a
good idea. I'd have to see if it was a good fit.
