Can you copy your Partition Profile, make the change, and next time you shut down the partition, bring it up on the new profile?

Shouldn't you be able to do maintenance on a profile whether it is
activated or not? The partition just only takes the changes to the
profile when it's activated, from profile.
If so, then, based on what I'm seeing, you cannot change the partition id.
So creating your partitions in order, and perhaps even a dummy partition
in between just so you get the same partition id's as on your old system,
is one way to get the desired partition numbers.
